catching the tiny magical moments of life

An uneventful autumn

We had a decent and slow end to fall this year. It was a relaxing change from last year’s frantic house-selling-and-buying whirlwind.

Stunning early fall sunrise

Halloween was a quiet affair in our new place. Eleven trick-or-treaters came by, most of them from our cul-de-sac and surrounding streets. It was nice to meet more neighbours and equally nice to use our new tiny propane firepit to keep toasty (and roast some marshmallows!).

Shane celebrated his birthday by eating four different types of meals out and about: German, Mexican, Italian, and Thai.

River celebrated his birthday by eating one big meal in: a beef and peanut butter pupcake.

We also went back to Capilano Suspension Bridge, now redone for the Christmas-y Canyon Lights.

And now we are focused on getting ready for a cozy Christmas at home. We hope you are too.

A bright frightful night

We had a delightful visit to Canyon Frights at the Capilano Suspension Bridge earlier this month. River always enjoys our trips to this attraction, since he’s allowed to come along.

Happy Halloween, folks! Enjoy this best of all holidays (I certainly will). =)

A happy farewell-oween

Halloween this year was a dry and mild but strangely quiet affair. I’m not sure if it was having the holiday on a Tuesday or the lack of porch lights on our street, but we had far fewer trick-or-treaters (121) than previous years.

Of course we still got into the spirit of the day.

The scariest thing about this year, though, is that it’s our last one in the ‘hood!

Yep, we’re moving again (totally Tilly’s idea). But hey, it’s been more than five years this time around, so that’s basically a new record for us!

More details to come…
